Four unidentified soldiers standing on their Ford prime movers, which are attached to the 24th, Australian Field Park Company, Royal Australian Engineers (RAE), 9th Australian Infantry Division. The vehicles are seven ton 4x4 General Service semi-trailer tractors, which have all have been fitted with Marmon Herrington all-wheel-drive kits. They are possibly transporting panel bridging equipment. The two outer trucks are 1939 models, the centre truck is a 1941 model, Army Registration Number AIF LX3169.  Syria c 1941 - 1942

On the front line

Do my eyes deceive me or is this a French dodge "tanaka" ? It was apparently used by the MO of the Australian Divisional cavalry. I assume it was borrowed in Syria.
