Contemporary cartoonist's view of the 1939 Pact.  I think that the cartoon is French in origin; if so, it reflects the hostile view of "Bolshevism" taken by the French Right at the time.  Perhaps their somewhat softer view of Hitler (if not Germany), also.  Of course, it was Poland that got eaten up then; but the great jaws did close, eventually ... JR
