An interesting wartime poster depicting how the Thai citizen should dress, and what clothes were considered "improper". 
The images on the left hand side show what was viewed as "primitive" and undesirable, while the people on the right (with noticeable western dress) are showcased as wearing "proper" and "correct" outfits.
This poster truly exemplifies just how westernized Thailand was becoming by the mid 20th century, despite still being the only Southeast Asian nation to never have been colonized by a European power.

How to Dress in Thailand

A (pretty racist, in my opinion) extract from a guide book given to US soldiers serving in the Pacific, titled "How to Spot a Jap". It basically gave a breakdown of what a Japanese person was supposed to look like (based on western stereotypes) so that G.I Joe could distinguish them from other, possibly friendly, Asians.

Interesting too, is the fact that only twenty or thirty years before this it was the Chinese who were portrayed as the "Yellow Devils" while Japanese immigrants were largely respected as honest businessmen.
