British cartoonist "Illingworth" offering optimism in relation to the Allied landings at Anzio  22 January, 1944.  Thanks in large part to over-cautious exploitation by Allied commanders on the ground, but also to the powerful German response, the outcome was not what the Allies might have hoped for.
