The poster was popularized by the music band "Sabaton".It sings many songs about Polish soldiers in 1939.What is more this band in not Polish.
 
 
The poster shows a Polish infantryman from the battle for Wizna that was held on 10 September 1939..700 Polish soldiers had to fight with the whole German corps !!!!...so there is the attitude 40:1.....that battle really took place.
 
 
The Poles were commanded by kpt.Władysław Ragins.He and his men swore that they wouldn't leave their positions(like the Spartan Army).....they had no chance 700 against 40 000-most of them died as well as Ragins.
 
 
Young students at school in Poland are taught about it during the history lesson....

Cover/Poster for great Finnish war film.  Considered controversial in Finland on release, as it presented the characters as less than glorious soldiers at times.  Real human beings under terrible stress of war giving in to the pressures.  Great combat scenes.  I wish it would release outside Finland with English subtitles.
