Early 1944 photo of my father (and me) home for a brief leave from the Eastern Front. Home at that time was Komarom (today's Komarno, Slovakia). Note the 3 horizontal silver bars on his overcoat sleeve, indicating his rank master seargent (fotorzsormester).

Honved noncom (altiszt)

This is my uncle, Szabo Ferenc (1918-1943???), posing with me in the summer of 1941 when he visited us in Komarom (present day Komarno, Slovakia). He served in the Royal Hungarian Army, Signal Corps (hirados). He was home on leave for Christmas 1942, but shortly after he had to go back to the Eastern Front - never to be heard from him again after the soviet breakthrough near Voronezh. Listed as MIA; may he RIP...

Army private - and nephew

An early photo (1923 or 1924) of my father (Szabo Jozsef 1903-1989) as a private in the Royal Hungarian Army... Note, the sword apparently was  part of the uniform.
