James Sellars - Royal Marines
Jim Sellars, Royal Marines WW2 My father Jim, now deceased typified the old expression "once a Marine, always a marine". Dad was a Canadian living in Sheffield when the war broke out and joined the British Royal Marines at age 17. He finished training at Stonehouse Barracks in Plymouth at age 18. He saw the world serving in Italy, and then the Pacific. He served in Burma with the Marines as well as various other areas. He suffered the rest of his life from various injuries suffered during the war as well as suffering from the effects of Malaria.
