This is my uncle, Szabo Ferenc (1918-1943???), posing with me in the summer of 1941 when he visited us in Komarom (present day Komarno, Slovakia). He served in the Royal Hungarian Army, Signal Corps (hirados). He was home on leave for Christmas 1942, but shortly after he had to go back to the Eastern Front - never to be heard from him again after the soviet breakthrough near Voronezh. Listed as MIA; may he RIP...

A member of my family, forced to join german troops...
He was sent too the russian front, where he is missing in action in the late 1944 after a russian counter attack at Ostalez (I think ex-Czechoslovakia).
Unfortunately I don't have any other informations...

Early 1944 photo of my father (and me) home for a brief leave from the Eastern Front. Home at that time was Komarom (today's Komarno, Slovakia). Note the 3 horizontal silver bars on his overcoat sleeve, indicating his rank master seargent (fotorzsormester).
