Iwo Jima Flag Raising Reenactment

20 Feb 2005 reenactment of the taking of Mt Suribachi. Held just outside of Fredericksburg Texas at a hill that looked remarkably like Suribachi only 1/2 size. Owners spent 6 months blasting it to look authentic, and Japanese reenactors flew on their own dime from Japan to play the enemy. There were tanks and a live flamethrower too! Photo taken with a Canon A400 digital point-and-shoot, so the quality wasn't as good as we'd like, and no telephoto lens, oh well...
