A group of smiling Japanese would-be kamikaze pilots pose in front of a Nakajima Ki-44 fighter plane before taking off for a sortie.  The Nakajima Ki-44 Shōki  was a single-engine fighter aircraft used by the Imperial Japanese Army Air Force in World War II.  The Allied reporting name was "Tojo".
