Young Speer.

German Leadership

Young Speer.

Unknown privae author (?Albert Speer)

Albert Speer as a student. A short few years later, he became entranced by the oratory of Adolf Hitler, and began on a course that would lead to being created the principal architect of the Third Reich, and successor of Dr. Fritz Todt as the Reich's minister for works, and minister for war production. History has tended to treat Speer kindly, based on his masterly defence at the Nuremberg trial of major war criminals, and on his self justifying memoir, "Inside the Third Reich". More recent research has been less kindly to this person, whose responsibility for such little matters as slave and forced labour in the later days of the war are coming under increasing attention. Best regards, JR.
