During the Occupation of the British Channel Island of Guernsey between 1940 and 1945 many local properties were commandeered by the German occupying forces as accommodation for officers and ordinary soldiers. This picture is of officers outside of a house which is now the La Roche Guest House in Guernsey. The suggestion is they are dressed for an official event, maybe a funeral, as they have ceremonial daggers attached to their belts.
