In the beginning of Operation Barbarossa most of the German soldiers expect another quick victory. This gunner (MG-Schütze 1) looks exhausted but still confident. He is carrying his MG34 and is wearing a mosquito-net on his helmet. At his belt the pistol and the mg-parts-pouch. He's decorated with the Iron Cross 2nd class and the Wounded Bagde in black.
