Generalleutnant (Lieutenant General) HEINRICH TRETTNER (1907-2006). Commander 4. Fallschirmjäger-Division (Paratrooper-Division), Knight's Cross with oakleaves on  September 17, 1944. After the war General Trettner joined the Bundeswehr and became chief of the Department of Logistics of the SHAPE (Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe) in Paris. He retired in 1968 and deceased two days before his 99th birthday in Mönchengladbach/Rhineland. Photo taken around 1941/42.(Bundesarchiv, Bild 146-1970-016-17)
