 On May 5, 1945, Third Division 7th Regiment soldiers Pvt. Bennet A. Walter and Pfc. Nick Ulrich raise a flag over Hitler's Berghof.Easy company of the 101st Airborne's 506th Parachute Regiment arrived after this ceremony and seeing no evidence of the Third Division's visit, assumed they had liberated the complex.(rudeerude)
