the famous photo from stars and stripes of 41-35177 Uden Uden's Oil Burner. my uncle SSgt. Albert H. Hurt is dumping everything to save weight of the a/c.  attacked just after delivering their payload by me 109's they had to fly 2hr back to Villacidro, Sardinia . 2LT Bennett received the DFC for landing them safe and sound. uncle al never wanted to tag along on another mission again!

the fellow in the center is SSgt. Robert Wilcox, he was killed july 20 1944 on another plane that was shot down by flak. the other two are, I believe, SSgt. William O' Donavan and SSgt. William Russell I don't know which is which

this is the last picture I have found of 41-35117 uncle al is still pitching, he told me he was never so scared in his life but he made it home to tell us of the 95 ways he killed hitler to win the war!LOL!
