After the occupation of Karelia in 1941 all the population was separated in two "categories" - the "close to finns" and low-race "ryssä" where they add all the ethnic russians and some of Ortodoxy native karelian ehtnic groups.All the "ryssä" were placed on the newly built concentration camp.
