Nazi period Red Cross Nurse's Badge, as worn at the throat by Nurse Elfriede Wnuk in an earlier entry. Apart from "professional" badges, the Nazis had a series of Red Cross "honour crosses" - but these were, in practice, typically awarded to officials for conspicuous merit in the performance of their duties rather than for any purpose specifically related to the German Red Cross, or to medical matters in general. Best regards, JR.
