From its base of Lagnasco, near Cuneo, Piedmont. In particular this “Veltro” ("Yellow 1" MM92212) was the aircraft flown by Staffelkapitän of 6./JG77 Oberleutnant Joachim Deicke. October 1943. Another Macchi MC.202 “Folgore” in German colors. This is an aircraft of Jagd Lehrschule-Uberprufungstelle JG 100 based in France, at Orange, employed like fighter trainer, 1944. According some sources was the planes of flight instructor Konrad Augner. Note the white propeller spinner with the black spiral, typical of German fighters adopted after the transfer of this aircraft from Italian Air Force to Luftwaffe, and the rudder perhaps yellow. The Oberleutnant Joachim Deicke, Staffelkapitän 6./JG77, on board of its MC.205 “Yellow 1”, October 1943. Note the Balkenkreuz superimposed to original Italian white band on the fuselage. Deicke closed the WW2 with 18 “kills. For the Luftwaffe’s pilots the MC.205 was fast and good to fly except for a tendency to enter a spin easily when losing speed in tight turns. A further disadvantage was the aircraft’s Italian radio because, despite talking over a powerful transmitter, it is barely possibly to communicate with the aircraft. Victor Sierra
