The Ack Pack was a harness carrying a ring-shaped fuel container with a capacity of 4 Imperial gallons (18 litres) of fuel on the operator's back. In the middle of the ring was a spherical container holding the propelling gas which was pressurized to 2,000 lbf/in² (140 Bar). This was enough to propel the burning fuel 120 feet (36 metres).

A pair of Spitfires of N° 443 Squadron,127 Wing RCAF,beat up the airfield over the squadron's flying control unit at Kleine Brogel Airfield,Belgium march 1945.
The aircraft nearest to the camera is a clipped-wing Spitfire MkXVI E coded  21-D serialnumber TB476,piloted by the unit's CO,Sqn/ldr Art Sager.His aircraft wore the name 'Ladykiller'painted on the cowling.
Art Sager commenced his operational flying duties in april 1942 and flew an array of Spitfire marks with N° 421,403,416 and 443 Squadrons.He destroyed 5 enemy aircraft during his operational career and proved to be a most skillful leader.Sager loved the Spitfire and of all marks he prefered the reliable Rolls-Royce equipped Mk IX.
