Ginger and Fishcakes' Commanding Officer

Vice-Admiral Sir Arthur Francis Pridham, CB, KBE, (seated, first right) at his eldest daughter Anne's's wedding to Lieutenant-Commander James Graham Gould ("Nat") aboard HMS Hood, 28 July 1937. Pridham served as Flag Captain and CSO aboard the Hood, 1936-1938; from 1941 to 1946 (when he retired) he served as President of the Ordnance Board with the rank of Vice-Admiral. Note the HMS Hood crest on the gun-caps. The thought "Ginger and Fishcake sat here" occurs - but I am sure the wedding party would have preferred not to think of that ... JR.
