Australian AC4 Sentinel Tank

The SENTINEL AUSTRALIAN CRUISER MARK I Although it was produced hastily as a "panic measure," the Australian AC1 Sentinel, based on the American M3, was an effective AFV and would have acquitted itself well in combat. The first version, called AC1, was armed with an ineffective 2 pounder gun. The last version, called AC4, was armed with a very effective 17 pounder gun, the same as the British Fireflys. Unfortunately, the Sentinel was never used in combat, but some of them, masquerading as Panzers, featured in the Australian film, The Rats Of Tobruk. (scanned by HOS Bandit)
