During World War II Marine Devil Dogs learned the art of war at the Marine War Dog Detachment Training School at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. These dogs were specifically trained to accompany Marines in landing operations, for sentry duty, deliver messages, and as scouts. In this photo, Private Alexander A.
