Laundry duty

This photo was taken on board a Coast Guard ship bound for the United States. On the left is a German Luftwaffe soldier, captured in Normandy; he is a former American, who moved to Germany before the war.  He previously worked in a butcher shop in Brooklyn, New York. - Beside him, is a Military Police officer.
