American soldiers are wading ashore near the town of Licata during the invasion of Sicily, bringing along donkies, suitable for the rough terrain for hauling supplies... Licata served as an Allied landing point during Operation HUSKY, the Allied invasion of Sicily in 1943, during World War II.
