As everyone pitches in to help out, cans of gasoline bound for Patton's gas-hungry Third Army are unloaded from a C-47 by Air Evacuation Nurse Irene Steffens. Airlifts brought in up to 12,000 gallons a day, a mere trickle in comparison to the 450,000 gallons that Patton required.
