When the Japanese closed the Burma Road, the Allies had to fly in supplies by going over the Himalayas ( the tallest mountains in the world ) nicknaming them the Hump.  Among the pilots who flew C-47's over the Hump was cowboy movie star Gene Autry.

A Martin Marauder B-26B medium bomber of the 558th Bomber Squadron, 387th Bombardment Group, named "A Kay Pea's Dream" in flight. Was hit by German AAA guns on a raid on the town of Villers Bocage, near Caen, France on June 15, 1944. Ditched off the Sussex coast of England, 3 of the crew members drowned, 2 survived.

Found this on fb,no date or whereabouts but an interesting photo.As the caption says,this is a game of 'chicken' or shutting down engines one by one and see who has the guts to play it hard.I suppose this 'game' wasn't liked too much by the group commanders and I wonder how it finally worked out for the 'playing' crews.I've never heard or read about this kind of 'letting off steam' ;)
