M26 Pershing Heavy Tank

The first M26 vehicles arrived in N.W. Europe early in 1945, and were assigned to the 3rd and 9th Armored Divisions, but they saw little action before the end of WW2. 10 tanks assigned to the 3rd Armored Division, however, in one encounter, destroyed 2 Tiger Ones, and 3 Mark IVs from a range of about 1000yds. One or two examples of so-called "Super Pershings" fitted with a (90mm) Tl5E1 high-velocity gun, arrived in Europe at a very late stage of the war. One of these took part in an action near Dessau on April 14, 1945, destroying a King Tiger and a Panther. Some were also deployed to the Pacific, seeing action during the invasion of Okinawa. And if I can't learn it from the captions in the book, I'll learn about it here. I'd rather post an incorrect caption, and be corrected about it, than post a photo with no caption at all!
