This picture was taken in Belgium region of Tongeren.Exact place or date is unknown.It shows four coffins  with German soldiers and Belgian gendarmes near the entrance to the church.There is no indication as to who is being buried.The death must have been well liked considering the many flowers  on the coffins.

Burial

Would like help in identifying the Lt General in the picture.  Through previous research believe it could be LTG Mark W. Clark.  Not a 100% sure, photo is from my deceased father’s Pfc Alexander F. D’Ambrosio, he is standing to the generals right in the photo.

He served during the war in the 12th Army group as a Military Policeman and messenger.  Any comments on the general’s identity would be greatly appreciated.
