Polish infantry in 1939

On August 31 Poland ordered general mobilization; one hundred thousand men joined the colours within the first hour.  The above photo shows a crowd round a mobilization notice posted up in Warsaw and signed by President Moscicki and War Minister General Kasprzycki.
