Another image from the May, 1939 photoshoot, depicting Legion Condor and Francoist Moroccan soldiers.  Franco's "Moors" were perhaps his fiercest fighters.  Their loyalty seems to have been more personal than "nationalistic".  It lay with Franco (and, perhaps, his old patron, Milan Astray), coming out of their comradeship in Spain's North African wars.  Nazi dogma notwithstanding, I suspect that they and their German colleagues got on pretty well ... Best regards, JR.

From the same photoshoot - a "Condor" soldier gives his Moroccan comrade a light.  Interesting vignette of camp life in the background - a row of boots, apparently.  Can't think of why this should be there, myself; maybe one of our experts In Here will know.  Best regards, JR.
