Caproni recce plans

Line-up of recce plans Caproni Ca.311 of 128th Squadriglia, 61st Gruppo Autonomo Osservazione Aerea (Autonomous Air Observation Group) likely on a Balkan airfield, prior of unit’s transfer on Eastern front, spring 1941. The aircrafts (the yellow engine cowlings were typical of Italian aircrafts on the Balkan theatre) are of the Ca.311’s first version with a totally glass nose which engendered some problems refraction and reflection with troubles for the pilots and the observers, troubles reduced by the new version with stepped-nose Ca.311M (M for Modificato/Modified). After the fall of the Yugoslavia the twin engines Caproni was employed for anti-partisan missions during the long and fierce guerrilla on the Balkans. Victor Sierra
