War Workers in the West Country, Britain, 1943 Women Ordnance workers from the small West Country arms factory of J & F Poole Ltd in Hayle, Cornwall, which had produced one million mortar bombs ( ML 3 Inch) have been rewarded by the ministry of supply with a trip to see some of their handiwork in action on a coastal range and shown how to fire them.
