On this day..6th March 1945.

 Dutch resistance hijack a truck carrying food, a much needed basic after the hunger winter of 44.
 Unfortunately a passenger in the truck was the SS Commander in Holland, Lt. Gen. Hanns Rauter.
 Rauter was shot but not killed. For his injury and humiliation he had 263 Dutchmen executed. This was one of the despicible acts he carried out whilst Commander. 
 After the war he was tried in The Hague, found guilty of crimes against humanity and was executed by firing squad.
