Unknown older man captured in mid-1943 by the notorious 7th SS Division Prinz Eugen somewhere in northwestern Montenegro, during Operation "Schwarz" (The Battle of Sutjeska). On the back of the photograph reads: "Einsatz Montenegro. Ein verwegener Bursche. "(" Action Montenegro. A brave guy. ")

Photo belonged to the SS officer Frederick William Krieger, highly ranked Nazis who before he came in the 7th SS Division, where he remained for several months, was in Poland, where it organized the extermination of the Jews and the massacre of Polish insurgents. He took part in the suppression of the uprising in the Warsaw ghetto. He committed suicide in Austria in May 1945 as commander of the 5th SS mountain Corps with the rank of General.

7th SS division in mid-1943 has committed terrible crimes in northwestern Montenegro, primarily of old men, women, and children, during an operation against partisans. Were killed about 1,500 civilians.
