Since it's beards' day: SS-Obersturmbannführer Max Seela (1911-1999), here as SS-Hauptsturmführer and commander 3rd Company/SS-Pionier-Batallion 3 &quot;Totenkopf&quot;. By the end of the war he commanded SS-Panzergrenadier-Regiment 19 (9th SS-Panzer-Division &quot;Hohenstaufen&quot;). Northern Russia, May 12, 1942. (Bundesarchiv Bild 101III-Gottschmann-012-24A)
