KING TIGER TANK

The Tiger II (PzKpfw VI) combined the heavy armor of the Tiger I with the sloped armor of the Panther and was, in effect, a completly different vehicle from the Tiger I. Despite its success in combat, the Tiger continued to experience many problems, not least of which was caused by its overlapping wheel suspension, which became easily clogged with mud. This had the potential for dire consequences, especially in the Russian winter, when the mud froze and had to be chipped away before the tank was ready for action. The Tiger II chassis was used as the basis for the Jagtiger B, 48 which were built. This was armed with a (128mm) gun. (scanned by HOS Bandit)
