Lauri Törni 1941

Second Lieutenant Lauri Törni (a.k.a. Larry Thorne) in his armored car in September 1941. He commanded armored platoon of the Finnish 1st Division from September to December of 1941. He later became famous as leader of Detachment Törni, a unit specialized in guerilla style operations behind enemy lines, and was decorated with the highest Finnish military award, the Mannerheim Cross, on July 9, 1944.
