This FW 190 turned out to be a booby trap. Shortly after this photo, two men died trying to salvage it.

RCAF 440 Squadron: B9 Lantheuil, France (Aug/1944). These typhoon pilots flew daily into the Falaise Pocket.  Several of these pilots would lose their lives within a few weeks of this photo being taken including S/L Pentland holding puppy !
