M4A3E2 Sherman Jumbo: "Jumbo" was the assault tank variant of the standard Sherman, upgrading frontal armor to 102 mm (4.0 in), with a glacis plate of 150 mm. Up to 7 inches of armor was applied to the gun mantlet. On this particular vehicle, the original 75mm gun has been upgraded to the higher velocity 76mm. Regardless of the upgrade in armor and armament (note the "plank armor" on the sides), a flank shot from a German AT gun has done this Jumbo in--German border, late 1944. taken from fb/T.Laemlein/Axis and Allies WW2 lounge
