Serial numbers 528 and 564 are Mk. I females from F Battalion. These tanks are being sent to Central Workshops, the unit handling the transfer is No. 2 Salvage Company.
There are several other types of tanks, some with sponsons some without.

Preparations

M4 Sherman VC Firefly of 24th Lancers, 8th (British) Armored Brigade, in Normandy, June, 1944.  The 24th Lancers (a new formation, in spite of the rather anachronistic name) was disbanded at the end of July, 1944, following heavy losses and dearth of replacements.  The surviving Lancers were reassigned to other British "Light Cavalry" regiments.  Best regards, JR.
