"Cutella, Italy. April 1944. North American P51 Mustang aircraft of No. 260 Squadron RAF, in the Maintenance section on an airfield being used by No. 3 (Kittyhawk) Squadron RAAF."  In UK/Europe all Mustang III's were retrofitted with the sliding Malcolm hood but in Italy they soldiered on with the original folding design.

"Europe. C. 1944-08. Portrait of Leading Aircraftman Cyril Creswell of Morden Surrey fitting an oblique camera to the mounting on a Mustang aircraft used in photographic reconnaissance operations." In another image, the air intake for the Allison is visible so this aircraft is a Mustang I or IA or II.  (Equivalent to XP-51, P-51 and P-51A) The location is possibly somewhere on the Continent.

“England. 1944-06-11. Flight Sergeant D. B. Kairtan, Babinda, Qld, a Mustang pilot with no. 19 Sqn RAF, ready to leave with another load of bombs for a target in the invasion area.”  This is probably a Mustang III.  Allison Mustangs in 2 TAF rarely carried bombs.
