Gen'l. Simon Bolivar Buckner had the "Stars and Bars" raised over Shuri Castle when it was taken during the fight for Okinawa. Unfortunately, Gen'l. Buckner was later mortally wounded by shell fragments from an artillery round.

This is the Battle flag of Gen. Robert E. Lee's Army of Nothr Va. not the flag of ths Confederate States. Most make that error. My home state Alabama
