AA battery to defend bridge

Capt. Lowell Smith of the 9th Air Force thanks a US Army 40 mm antiaircraft crew for their help. Smith had been attacked by a Bf-109 while returning from a mission - with no ammunition left, he flew over this gun position and the crew shot the German fighter down.
