Virgil On The Quad 50; Europe, Circa 1944

Virgil Simpson, my father, with a quad 50 (m51) in Europe during World War Two. Virgil was a cannoneer, then the gunner, on this anti-aircraft weapon. This quad 50, trailer mounted, was moved from place to place by a truck. The quad 50 was battery operated and could swivel from side to side, while the 4 gun barrels moved up and down. Corporal Larry Kreeger was in command of this weapon. To brag a little, Larry told me that Virgil was very adept, as the gunner, at operating this weapon.
