Patton - not exactly a person untouched by racial prejudice - presents the Silver Star to Private Ernest A. Jenkins of the 761st.  The Battalion received many decorations, including one Medal of Honor (posthumous) and a Presidential Unit Citation.  Sadly, perhaps, the latter honours were afforded only many years after the war's end.  Best regards, JR.
