1942- Brisbane Australia- they used horses getting back and forth to and from base because of gas rationing.

War in Pacific- Army on horseback- 1942

My father- John Patrick Gallagher- born in Ireland, raised in Brooklyn NY, joined Army Air Corp right after Pearl Harbor- 1941. Did 6 weeks training, made Sergeant and sent to Pacific.  Saw action in Dutch East Indies, Biak, New Guinea. Was there til end of the war- 1945.
