    Ygg, I agree it was only a few out of many that committed the atrocities. But look at how many those "few" killed.I totally agree that most german soldiers were just that, "soldiers". I also agree that the M3 was not the best tank to go into combat...

I also agree that the M3 was not the best tank to go into combat with. But remember that a lot of Russian tank crews did not get the training they needed and that could also be a reason for the poor perfomance of these tanks in Russia. These lend lease tanks were just to fill the gaps while the Russians moved their factories further east, and to help with the huge losses of their own tanks.

    Slightly unfair on the poor old M3. When it arrived in the desert the Brits thought quite highly of it. A gun that could take out a Panzer III/IV and an HE shell as well. The Russians never liked it called it a "coffin for seven brothers". It served at Kursk and was better than no tank at all I.E. a Panther at Kursk behind the lines with it's engine on fire.

    Yea... but M3 is... hm... bad tank. But it's affair of commanders where better use it. Against other tanks - no, please =) not with this shape.
