japanese army tank commander colonel Colonel shimada ,he was a infantryman in 1938 and in 1939 he became commander of the 4th tank company of the 6th tank regiment, he studied tank warfare in germany and concluded that tanks should only attack enemy forces at night, he fought during the invasion of malaya equipped with type 97 medium tanks, he successfully attacked british forces only at night without losing a single tank, in 1943 he returned to japan as a tank warfare instructor, when the war ended he became a Professor of sciences in tokyo and died in 1988
