    I read on Wikipedia (Yea! Yea! I know...) that some people who were imprisoned, but who were Party members at the time, received them. Maybe he had ties but wasn't an official Party member when he was jailed.

    Hi JR. I have to agree with you. Martin Bormann was not an original recipient of the Blood Order. Some records show that he didn't join the NSDAP until after his release from prison in 1925, other records show that he joined the party in 1927. A bit of a mystery then, how he came to be awarded the Blood Order. Perhaps he was there in spirit,eh!

    Gold Party Badge, Ribbon/Rosette of the Blood Order. Bormann, I think, was not an "original" recipient of the Blood Order. He hooked up with the Nazis some time after the unfortunate events of 9 November, 1923, in that Munich beer-hall ... JR.
